As previously announced, we recently received a 498,000 $ARB grant (~$500K USD) from Arbitrum, which we must spend over the next 3 months to encourage growth of SX Bet and $SX on Arbitrum.

The first instalment of the grant has arrived, and to kick things off we’re running a $69,420 tournament from June 13th to July 14th. The top 100 biggest bettors on Arbitrum will receive their rewards for this tournament in $ARB!

SX Network will be migrating to an Arbitrum Orbit Rollup

Recent scaling issues have made it clear that SX needs to upgrade its infrastructure away from Polygon Edge. After weeks of research, it’s become clear that SX Chain should become and Arbitrum Orbit rollup.

What are the advantages of migrating SX to it’s own Arbitrum Orbit Rollup? TLDR:

8x Faster Block Times: the added speed opens the door to cross-chain in-play betting & onchain casino games. Also improves UX- notably lower failure rates + faster bet settlement.
Better Bridging: the rollup will rely on Ethereum and Arbitrum for underlying security, rather than a 3rd party bridge, like Celer.
Revenue source for SX: Orbit rollups earn revenue from all transactions on the chain. Faster infrastructure also enables other revenue streams, like an onchain casino.
Best In-Class Support: SX will directly benefit from the infrastructure upgrades and direct support + maintenance from Arbitrum
Simplifying Staking: rollup lowers the cost & barriers to entry for validators and allows them to focus on distributed reporting infrastructure.

What to expect?

The migration should be complete well before the end of the summer. The entire process for users to migrate should be less than five minutes.
